Toronado will hit the Rowley Mile when he takes on his three rivals in the Craven Stakes tomorrow on route to the 2000 Guineas

The unbeaten Richard Hannon colt is second favourite for the 2000 Guineas and will face only three opponents in the traditional trial for the Newmarket classic.  Havana Gold, Dundonell and Tawhid are all held in high regard by their connections but will be unlikely to be able to breeze past Toronado up the Rowley Mile. In Crockford’s opinion the strongest challenge to the unbeaten three year old will come from his stablemate Havana Gold who displayed good speed last season and if training on will be a useful sort. If Toronado blows away his opposition tomorrow the 7/1 available for the 2000 Guineas and 14/1 for the Derby with Paddy Power will disappear.

Ghurair runs in the valuable Tattersalls Millions Trophy (2.55) where he is a hot favourite to land the prize before an attempt at the Guineas, but he will not have everthing his own way with the highly touted Greatwood standing between him and victory. In the Wood Ditton (2.20) Luca Cumani trains the newcomer Sakatchewan who holds classic entries and is one of the first UK trained runners for the Wildersteins. The Cheka holds an excellent chance in the Abernant Stakes (3.30) and Bonfire will look to get back to winning ways the Earl Of Sefton Stakes (4.40).
