Solwhit will head the market in a cracking renewal of the French Champion Hurdle at Auteuil

The World Hurdle and Aintree Hurdle winner looks set to add the French Champion Hurdle to his haul of victories in 2013. He will face old rivals including the in form Celestial Halo who is a recent French winner and the one time Grand National favourite On His Own. The Byrnes trained horse was a revelation this spring and looks attractive odds at 5/2 to add to his his winning sequence. The Mullins trained grey Thousand Stars won the race last year and will present a strong challenge to Solwhit if ¬†can regain his form. Amongst the home challenge last year’s second Nikita De Berlais could be each way value at 16/1. Crockford believes that this may well be the strongest three mile race to be run in 2013 with horses like Reve De Sivola, Gemix and Zaidpour making up the numbers.

Earlier on the card punters will also be treated to a strong juvenile contest which will feature the useful Mullins pair Diakali and Blood Cotil. Blood Cotil got the better of his stablemate in their last run at Auteuil but that the placings should be reversed today in the (1.30). Daryl Jacob rides the highly regarded Cheltenham Festival third Ptit Zig who also has strong claims. Both Blue Fashion for Henderson and Dalasiri for Harty being interesting participant. The French hopes appear to lie with Le Grand Luce.

Ted Walsh will look to get his lightly raced Seabass back in the winners circle in the Grade Two Chase (2.08) with son Ruby on board.
