Aidan O’Brien will hope that a bit of magic from Magician will land the Arlington Millions tonight
Irish champion trainer Aidan O’Brien will hope that the mercurial Magician can show a bit of his magic tonight and land the valuable Arlington Million. The globe-trotting Magician was not at his best last time out at Ascot and his trainer will expect a bolder show when he takes on his US and other European rivals over the ten furlong distance. An impressive winner of the Breeders Cup Turf last November he should have enough tricks up his sleeve to pull away from his opponents and land the prize.
The Ballydoyle handler also runs the useful three-year-old Adelaide in the Secretariat Stakes earlier on the card. The useful colt was just beaten by Mr Speaker at Belmont Park and has the ability to go one better in this Grade One contest.
Ryan Moore will partner O’Brien’s Eye Of The Storm in the American St Leger where he will face the 2013 winner Dandino. Moore was on board twelve months ago when Dandino won and may have to watch the seven-year-old win again.
Ballydoyle do not have any runners in the other Grade One on the card – The Beverley D Stakes. Here the British hopefuls Just The Judge and Euroline Charlie are not without chances but they will have to get the better of Somali Lemonade.
