Richard Hughes will again be the Producer of winners with an excellent book of rides at Epsom on Investec Oaks Day
The course winner and specialist Producer looks certain to give Richard Hughes a win in the Investec Diomed Stakes (2.45) which may well be followed up by a victory in the Investec Mile on Mister Music (3.20). Often the key element for any winning selection at Epsom is if the horse can handle the undulations and camber of this unique course. Both Producer and Mister Music seem to relish the conditions on the Downs and with Hannon and Hughes being the force that they are at the course punters should look no further than these two selections.
Hughes has other good rides this afternoon including in the Oaks on Talent for Ralph Beckett but they may be vulnerable to other runners with stronger form.
Thistle Bird has been very consistent for Roger Charlton and is the likely winner of the first (1.35). The tough filly may have to repel the progressive three year old Waterway Run though, who ran well recently in the French Guineas. The (2.10) is a competitive affair where the course specialist Resurge looks each way value against the useful Blue Surf and upwardly mobile Boonga Roogeta.
