Trainer Nicholls reveals that if he could only win one more race it would be the Grand National 2014 with Tidal Bay
Paul Nicholls revealed to his followers on twitter on Monday evening that if he could choose to train only one more winner in his illustrious career it would be Tidal Bay in this year’s Grand National.
The trainer spent the evening answering questions from punters and followers of turf via @BetfairRacing; when towards the end of the session he was put on the spot by @TeamHandsomeTip who asked:
“If you could only win one more race as a trainer which would it be & which horse would you win it with?”
Nicholls replied simply:
“The Grand National with Tidal Bay”
The thirteen-year-old Tidal Bay is currently priced at 16/1 with most firms to win the Grand National 2014 after finishing a good second in the Hennessy Gold Cup earlier this month.
It would appear that Nicholls’ plans for Tidal Bay are to go out on the same high as his winner Neptune Collonges did back in 2012. This will be Tidal Bay’s second attempt at the Grand National fences having unseated his rider in the race back in 2011 when trained by Howard Johnson.
With the form that the fifteen-time winner Tidal Bay has been showing in the last two seasons his trainer may just get his wish of another famous last hurrah.
