Dermot Weld and Tony Martin look set to share the spoils on Day Five of the Galway Festival
There is a good chance that trainers Weld and Martin will go through the card at Galway this evening. Both have had a brilliant Festival so far, being head and shoulders above their rivals in the trainers table. On the fifth day it will be the Master of Rosewell House that will have the upper hand with exceptional chances in the form of Backdrop (5.05), Calibrate (6.15), Show Court (6.50), Unaccompanied (7.25) and Dancer’s Dilemma (8.25).
The most interesting of Weld’s runners is probably Dancer’s Dilemma in the last. The horse finished a distant second to Martin’s Busted Tycoon earlier in the week and looks to have been sharpened up for this by the run. This normal Weld ploy has been successful on many occasions in the past with today’s success only put into doubt by the presence of Martin’s Galloping Gander with the useful Clements on board. With Weld having five real opportunities to get into the Winners Enclosure on day five, the trainers championship at the Festival should be sealed today.
Martin will continue his amazing Festival with Woodsophiesmile (5.40) and Another Ambition (7.55).
