Tony Martin’s Busted Tycoon is set for a legendary treble at the Galway Festival
Busted Tycoon was both a winner of the last race on the card on Tuesday and yesterday. The Tony Martin horse is Evens favourite to land the gamble again today in (3.20) and in so doing writing his name into the legendary history of the much loved Irish meeting. The trainer has had a memorable meeting, where at times, he has even overshadowed the King of Ballybrit Dermot Weld, but success again today with his four-year-old will make the stuff of Irish tales for years to come. With Ruby Walsh booked the stories are certainly in the making. The only threat to this famous Galway treble will come from the in form Twin Plan.
Busted Tycoon could complete a treble on the day for his trainer, with Martin having outstanding chances with Nearest the Pin in the first and the classy Pires in the second.
Weld won the first at the meeting on Monday and looks set to close the meeting with a winner – Grecian Tiger. Grecian Tiger will have to tackle Mullins’s unbeaten Devil’s Bride to take the race but is well placed to do so. Talween may provide the Master of Rosewell win another bumper winner in the penultimate race. Notable Graduate is scheduled to make a second appearance at the Festival in the novice hurdle (3.55) where is favourite to add to Weld’s festival tally.
