Godolphin’s Future Empire to conquer rivals in the Group Three Solario Stakes at Sandown this afternoon
The highly regarded Future Empire may not be a new Kingman but he should have enough class to beat his rivals in the Solario if his entries are anything to go by. Godolphin’s two-year-old has entries in the Dewhurst and Racing Post Trophy later in the season and may just carry the flag for the team in what has been a lean year. In his way this afternoon is Hugo Palmer’s Aktabantay who has run with credit in some good contests but may just be short of the class of Future Empire.
With £2.5m predicted as the fund for the Scoop Six punters will be hoping to name the winner of the Sandown (3.50). Crockford plumbs for What About Carlo to complete the scoop.Well thought of by connections this good course winner has been highly tried this season and should make a bold show.
CROCKFORD’S DEAD CERT – WHIPLASH WILLIE (CHESTER 3.30)
Winner of one of the oldest races in the racing calendar – The City Bowl at Salisbury, Whiplash Willie looks at cut above his opponents. With the ground coming in his favour and lightly raced he will have enough to defeat the others today.
CROCKFORD’S WHISPER – WHAT ABOUT CARLO E/W (SANDOWN 3.50)
Talked of as a potential Eclipse horse after his win at Sandown back in the spring, this horse has been highly tried with his last outing being in the Group Two Celebration Mile seven days ago. This drop in class and quick return is eye-catching in itself.
ARCHER’S SELECTION – FUTURE EMPIRE (SANDOWN 2.40)
Archer would have noticed the impressive victory at Newmarket and the entries held by this son of New Approach. In what looks at weak renewal the jockey would have claimed the ride on this quality animal.
