2011 Melbourne Cup winner Dunaden leads a strong European raid on the Japan Cup

The  2011 Melbourne Cup hero Dunaden will be joined on his Japanese mission by the Willie Mullins trained Simenon, who finished fourth last time out in this year’s Melbourne Cup, and by Ed Dunlop’s globe-trotting Joshua Tree fresh from a third win in the Canadian International.

Partnered by Jamie Spencer the Delzangles trained seven-year-old will look to add another of world’s great prizes to his career tally but he will face stiff opposition from the home favourites Gold Ship and Gentildonna. Ryan Moore takes the ride on 2012 Japan  Cup victor Gentildonna who looks the one to beat again this year in the race.

After the season that Johnny Murtagh has had he must fancy his chances on Joshua Tree to finish his perfect year on a high.
