True Story and Arod’s Dante form gets a big boost from The Grey Gatsby’s runaway win in the Prix Du Jockey Club

The second and third in the Dante had a massive boost to their Derby chances with the impressive victory of The Grey Gatsby in the Prix Du Jockey Club this afternoon.

True Story was an easy winner at Newmarket earlier in the season and was sent off the odds-on favourite to land the recognised Derby trial at York, but could only finish third to The Grey Gatsby. Punters took this a result as an indication that the race and form was not strong enough for the Godolphin horse to figure at the Epsom. However, today’s Prix Du Jockey Club’s result should get them thinking again.

True Story is currently available at the attractive odds of 14/1 with Ladbrokes and 12/1 with other firms. Not to overlook the second in the Dante, Peter Chapple-Hyam’s Arod on offer at 16/1.

These prices certainly look more appealing than those available for the Ballydoyle fancies Australia 10/11 and Geoffrey Chaucer 6/1.
