Dawn Approach is as short as 4/5 for the Derby at Epsom next month but is that value?

The impressive 2000 Guineas winner is a warm order for the Epsom Classic but can he justify such a short price? The unbeaten favourite holds by far the strongest form  and looks well placed to follow in the hoof-prints of Camelot and Sea The Stars but Crockford believes the value to be elsewhere.

Mars who finished sixth in the Guineas at Newmarket in his first outing of the season showed promise last season and has been aimed at the Derby. Quoted at 16/1  he looks the value amongst what seems to be a weak field. If Mars is placed he will provide a much larger return than a win for the odds on favourite.

Crockford warns punters to take the 16/1 each way value available with William Hill before his price tumbles if he runs well in the Irish 2000 Guineas at the weekend.
