Daryl Jacob will take the leading role at Ditcheat after Ruby Walsh stood down today as number one jockey for Paul Nicholls
The Walsh Nicholls partnership has been at the pinnacle of National Hunt racing in recent years. With around 600 winners and a strike rate of over 25% there have been plenty of magic moments for the team and punters to remember. None probably more memorable than the fifth King George on Kauto Star.
Walsh has now decided to concentrate his efforts in Ireland with Willie Mullins but will still ride for Nicholls when available. Ruby’s departure has meant the promotion of the talented Daryl Jacob to the number one spot. Jacob (the 2012 Grand National winning jockey) will prove to be an able replacement and is certain to partner many more winners in the years to come.
