Punters should Be Ready for a Craven Stakes upset when the unbeaten Toormore clashes with Godolphin’s Be Ready
The unbeaten Richard Hannon three-year-old Toormore is odds on favourite to win the Craven Stakes before having a crack at the Guineas. The impressive Glorious Goodwood winner is currently quoted at as low as 7/1 for the 2000 Guineas and is many punters idea of a real rival to Australia and Kingman in the first colts Classic. That confidence in success may well be overlooking Be Ready who has the profile to cause an upset in the 2000 Guineas trial. The Godolphin colt was impressive at Doncaster in his listed victory and can certainly progress from that.
Aljamaaheer and Just The Judge will add further class to the day in their respective races and should start the 2014 season with two easy victories.
Crockford’s Dead Cert – Just The Judge (Newmarket 4.40)
Just The Judge is a cut above the rest in the Earl Of Sefton and is certain to stamp her class on this field. Second last year in the 1000 Guineas this flying machine will have no trouble in putting her rivals in their place. The filly can be forgiven her two last runs.
Crockford’s Whisper – Time For Rupert e/w (Cheltenham 3.50)
It is Time For Rupert to come good at Cheltenham. This once Gold Cup fancy has shown glimmers of his old form of late and should make a bold show in this weaker field. Expect at least a place at good odds.
Archer’s Selection – Aljamaaheer (Newmarket 3.30)
Archer would have realised that this classy miler has the speed to adapt to the shorter trip. He would have certainly be up for this certain win.
