Cirrus Des Aigles to be crowned king of Europe in the Group One Coronation Cup at Epsom on Derby Day

The French equine superstar comes to Epsom on the back of defeating the mighty Arc winner Treve on his last run. Many punters believed that he was on the downgrade last season and had passed his best, but Cirrus Des Aigles victory against the super filly showed he is still the best in Europe.

With the rain coming this morning at Epsom connections should feel confident that Cirrus Des Aigles will take another Group One in his stride. His main rivals in the Coronation Cup will be the well named Oaks winner Talent and the fellow French raider Flintshire. Another win for the odds on favourite should see him crowned as the King of Europe.

Crockford’s Dead Cert – Cirrus Des Aigles (Coronation Stakes – Epsom 2.40)

One of the only horses to truly give the mighty Frankel a race, this group one should be taken in his stride. Talent and Flintshire are fair rivals but are not up to the class of Treve who Cirrus Des Aigles defeated last month.

Crockford’s Whisper – True Story (Investec Derby – Epsom 4.00)

Fallon is bullish about the chances of this talking horse. Easy winner of the Feilden Stakes at Newmarket and showing plenty at home. His form in the Dante was given a big boost by the impressive victory of The Grey Gatsby in the French Derby.

Archer’s Selection – Kellini (Espom 4.50)

Archer would have noticed this recruit from Australia and would have been impressed by his Melbourne Cup form. Dropping down in class Archer would have been certain to have been on board.

Epsom – What About Carlo e/w (1.35), Baitha Alga (2.05), Talent e/w (2.40) and Swansong (3.15)
