Exciting new Chepstow Jumps Festival to jump start National Hunt season with bumper two day card this weekend
This weekend will see Chepstow put on two days of top quality jumps racing that will see a spectacular pot of £250,000 prize money on offer. The new initiative has been designed to give a proper opening to the new season and to improve the popularity of jumps racing at the Welsh course.
Chepstow’s initiative has been rewarded by attracting the likes of the 2014 Grand National winner Pineau De Re and the 2014 Champion chaser Sire De Grugy as entries for the meeting.
The feature of the weekend Festival will be the Totepool Silver Trophy that has been moved forward from its usual spot in the calendar later in the month.
In a recent letter Clerk of the Course Keith Ottesen outlined and explained:
“This meeting has been created as a result of fixture movements with other courses including Cheltenham. It means we can consolidate all our early season feature races into one exciting weekend and create a proper launch to the winter jumping campaign”
“We are working hard to improve the popularity of jump racing at Chepstow and we believe this two-day festival with help us move in the right direction. We hope you will be able to support the meeting”
