The O’Brien’s will overcome the disapointment of the St Leger loss with a win in this afternoon’s Arc for Camelot.

With Frankie Dettori booked to take his 25th Arc ride on Camelot everything seems well placed for the colt to achieve his potential and be crowned Prince of Europe. The strongest danger may take the form of his stablemate ridden by Joseph O’Brien – St Nicholas Abbey. The Japanese Triple Crown winner Orfevre appears also to be in excellent form after his trial race win. Great Heavens was supplemented at great expense by John Gosden following the withdrawal of notables such as Nathaniel, Snow Fairy and last year’s winner Danedream.

Crockford’s prediction:

1 Camelot

2 St Nicholas Abbey

3 Great Heavens
