British and Irish sprinters are set to dominate Prix de L’Abbaye de Longchamp this afternoon

Sixteen of the twenty runners lining up in the five furlong sprint will have made their ways to France from the UK and Ireland. In what is certain to be a tactical affair where a mixture of luck and speed will be essential, the chances of Clive Cox’s Reckless Abandon and Edward Lynam’s Sole Power stand out.

Many punters will be attracted by the combination of Gary and Ryan Moore with the progressive Dutch Masterpiece. The three-year-old has shown improvement throughout the season and should not be overlooked. The hussle and bussle of the race may prove to be too much for him against his older battle hardened rivals.

Getting a good break will count for everything and if Cox’s Reckless Abandon does and gets out and dominates he will be hard to beat at a good price.
