Punters will be asking can Pallasator land the gamble for Sir Mark Prescott in the Betfred Ebor?
The master planner Sir Mark Prescott has plotted the path of Pallasator to the valuable Betfred Ebor with cunning and precision, but will the gamble be landed? Pallasator’s preparations have been ominous for the bookmakers and there are none better than Sir Mark Prescott to pull off a coup.
However, another master planner may just foil the plan. Tony Martin’s Ted Veale was a warm favourite for the 2013 renewal and was not disgraced when finishing fourth. Now thrown in at the bottom weight with an able pilot taking off even more pounds his presence in the field must be respected, alongside the in form Cumani stable’s Sir Walter Scott.
Trainer Luca Cumani has a strong hand across the rest of the Ebor card, where he runs the useful Connecticut (2.40) and Ajman Bridge (5.00). Both look well placed to pick up their respective races.
At Newmarket Intrinsic can continue to show his future potential as a top sprinter and at Goodwood the Celebration Mile is the centrepiece of a strong card.
CROCKFORD’S DEAD CERT – INTRINSIC (NEWMARKET 3.55)
Good winner of the Stewards Cup and touted as a future top class sprinter by connections, Intrinsic will have no problem in continuing his winning ways. Expect him to be contesting Group One sprints in the future.
CROCKFORD’S WHISPER – TED VEALE E/W (EBOR -YORK 3.50)
Fourth last year in the Ebor, he comes to the race with a feather weight and able claimer. The lack of a flat appearance this season so far is not a concern as he will be fit from his national hunt campaign. Expect a bold show from Tony Martin’s horse.
ARCHER’S SELECTION – ALEX MY BOY (GOODWOOD 4.40)
Archer would have known the high hopes surrounding this horse and how easy his win was last time out. The champion horseman would have been up on this main chance.
