Veteran trainer Clive Brittain and his classy filly Rizeena are set to dance to victory in 1000 Guineas 2014

Clive Brittain knows what it takes to win the 1000 Guineas having won it with Pebbles and Sayyedati. This year the trainer believes he has another super filly that will dance to victory and set him off boogieing in the winners enclosure. The 1000 Guineas leading fancy held entries in both the 1000 and 2000 Guineas with the trainer opting for an engagement against her female rivals. Talk on the gallops is that she will add another Guineas to the trainers haul.

In Rizeena’s way is the useful Lucky Kristale whose trainer also shows a similar faith in his filly. The Margarson filly beat Rizeena at the July course last year but those placings should be reversed today.

Sandiva won the recognised Guineas trial (the Nell Gwyn) and seems to have been overlooked in the markets. The filly did nothing wrong last season and has excellent each way claims especially with Dettori booked. The O’Brien pair Tapestry and Bracelet are both strong fancies for the Oaks but do not look to be the best he has sent across.

Later in the afternoon punters will look for more Oaks clues in the running of the Pretty Polly Stakes (5.00), where Gosden’s highly regarded Taghrooda is to stake her claims.

Crockford’s Dead Cert – Rizeena (1000 Guineas – Newmarket 3.50)

Brittain predicted that both Pebbles and Sayyedati would win their Guineas and now he has claimed that Rizeena will. Such knowledgeable confidence from the veteran trainer must not be overlook. Rizeena has the ability to lead her class and even mix it with her male peers. Expect the dancing shoes to be seen in the Winners Enclosure.

Crockford’s Whisper – Ninjago e/w (Newmarket 3.10)

With the Hannon team in such good form it would be stupid to overlook the prospects of another good run from one of their string. Ninjago showed that he goes well fresh when taking a listed contest at Ascot this time last year.

Archer’s Selection – Taghrooda (Newmarket 5.00)

Archer would not have missed the ride on this leading Oaks fancy. The talk of her ability would have made it certain that he would be up to ride.

Crockford’s Gambles on 1000 Guineas Day 2014:

Newmarket – Van Percy e/w (2.05), Esoterique (2.40), Ninjago e/w (3.10), Rizeena and  Sandiva e/w (1000 Guineas 3.50), Taghrooda (5.00) and Snow Trouble (5.35)
